Storage auction game: bid on mystery units with your friends
BidParty is a free online storage auction game that runs in your browser. Items from an abandoned storage unit go up for auction one by one and you bid live against your friends. The true value of every item is hidden from everybody, and the winner is whoever grabs items for less than they are worth. It works on phones, tablets and computers with nothing more than a link.
The idea behind it
Storage units whose owners stopped paying are sold at auction, and bidders can only look from the doorway. Is it treasure or trash? BidParty turns that thrill into a party game: you only have one small hint and the way your rivals bid. Read the room well and you profit; get carried away and you overpay.
How a round works
- Everyone starts with 100 coins and ten items go up for auction.
- For each item you get a private hint that is always true, such as "worth 14 to 32" or "one of the three most valuable items".
- Bid with the buttons. The first bid has 10 seconds, and every new bid resets the timer to 8 seconds.
- When the time runs out, the highest bidder pays and takes the item.
- At the end the hidden values are revealed. Profit = true value of what you won − what you paid.
